An der Nationaluniversität in Galway (Irland) ist eine Forschungsstelle für drei Jahre in der Kunstgeschichte bzw. in der Archäologie ausgeschrieben. Der/Die Bewerber/in soll in der Lage sein, interdisziplinär von der Antike bis zum frühen Mittelalter zu lehren, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Spätantike, des Frühen Mittelalters und des Frühen Christentums. University Fellow (Teaching and Research) in Classics, Ancient and Medieval Art or Archaeology
National University of Ireland, Galway (3 Year Contract)

Classics at the National University of Ireland, Galway, invites applications for a three-year, full-time teaching and research post from candidates with a specialism in art history or archaeology and the ability to teach interdisciplinary courses from Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. The post will commence on 1 August 2010.
The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of the field and active commitment to research. The current staff's interests include Late-Antique and Early-Medieval Europe, Early Christian studies, myth and religion, and cultural transmission. The successful candidate will complement and reinforce these strengths. It is desirable that the candidate have the ability to teach Latin or another ancient language.
The discipline is dedicated to research-led teaching and the candidate's capacity to translate his or her research into teaching will be an important factor in the decision.

Salary: €35,582 p.a. (Year 1), €36,781 p.a. (Year 2), €37,996 p.a. (Year 3). Note: An annual grant of up to €12,000 will be provided to the University Fellow (Teaching and Research), which may be availed of, within the period of the appointment subject to provisions, to further her/his research profile.
